League for Animals and People of the Summit L.A.P.S. has been proudly serving Summit County, Colorado since 1990 as a registered 501-C3 non-profit EIN #84-1157625. LAPS raises funds to support a variety of assistance programs for companion animals of low income families living or working in Summit County, Colorado. LAPS is not part of the Summit County Animal Shelter, but we do subsidize their spay/neuter program with a generous annual grant from The Summit Foundation. LAPS also sponsors a discount voucher program with our local veterinary offices for spay/neuter for any income level. Applications for financial assistance or discount spay/neuter vouchers can be picked up at your vet or the Summit County Animal Shelter in Frisco. Funds for LAPS programs are raised through public grants, tax-deductible memberships, companion remembrances, special events, and always very generous donations from our wonderful local business community.

LAPS does not have ANY paid staff members... just a very dedicated board of directors, some fantastic fundraisers, and many loyal event volunteers. LAPS does not spend any of your generous donation on advertising, office space, computers and printers, phone lines, internet connections, or salaries. Advertising is donated by local media outlets and volunteer board members use their own personal equipment and donate all transportation costs. LAPS prides itself on extremely low overhead for insurance, event permits, and paper supplies. Nearly 100% of your generous donation will always be invested directly back into our community for the benefit of companion animals in need. "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated." Mahatma Gandhi. LAPS needs Board Members! We can always use motivated civic-minded citizens willing to dedicate the time and energy necessary to promote community welfare while helping LAPS organize events and process charity grant requests. If you are interested in making a long-term commitment, please email us at LAPS@colorado.net and join our mission to care for Summit County companion animals in need.

Tax deductible LAPS charity donations, companion animal memorials, friend and family remembrances are welcomed.
